SPIDER PLANT

This curly-leaved plant thrives in low light conditions, is safe for pets, and grows plantlets you can gift to friends. They are known for their ease-of-care and their ability to remove unhealthy toxins from the air proliferated by smoke, car exhaust, and synthetics.

PRO TIP

If the green starts fading or looking pale, it’s getting too much light. Move to lower light and the color will return.

RATTLESNAKE PLANT

This calathea grows unique and beautifully patterned leaves that have wavy edges. It's adaptable and easy to care of, especially for a calathea. Considered a prayer plant, the leaves move with the rise and fall of the sun.

PRO TIP

Use filtered water when watering, or let tap water sit for a day prior. This prevents leaf tip burn.

DRAGON TREE

Dracaenas are well-known for their low-maintenance care needs and will bring the jungle vibes you deserve to any space. Because of their twisty, curvy nature and resilience to survive, they were dubbed as dragon trees. They're easy to propagate and have air cleansing properties that will keep your air fresh in any indoor environment, whether in a store, the office, or your home.

PRO TIP

Noticing lower leaves dropping? Don't freak out. This is totally natural for this species. Think of it this way: if dragons were real, they'd shed, right? Well, your dracaena is doing just that. Shedding old growth to save energy for new, fresh foliage. Only worry if leaves are dropping at a very rapid pace, or if they are dropping from all over the plant.

PHILODENDRON BRAZIL

Originally from the tropical rainforests of Brazil, this plant quickly gained traction in houseplant culture due to its ease of care, resilience, and light flexibility. It grows in cascading vines, can be trained to climb, and is easy to propagate.

PRO TIP

To propagate, cut a piece at least 6″ long and place in water in bright light. Roots will grow in one week.

LADY VALENTINE

Aglaonema plants are an excellent choice for indoor gardening, thanks to its easy-care nature and striking foliage. The plant is also known as the "luck plant" due to its association with good fortune in Chinese culture.

PRO TIP

Overwatering can cause root rot, so make sure the pot has proper drainage and check the moisture of the soil prior to watering. Using a moisture meter is great for helping you know when to water.

BIRD NEST FERN

This fern grows lush, wavy, green foliage. It's growing pattern is unique, with new growth emerging from the rosette. It's beginner friendly, requiring minimal attention for a fern.

PRO TIP

A bathroom with good light is perfect as they need higher humidity than most other plants.

ZANZIBAR GEM

ZZ plants are arguably one of the toughest plants in the game. Its leaves are dark green, and grow upon thick stems and rhizomatous roots. It's able to go without water for weeks on end and can survive in almost any light condition, making it the perfect plant for a busy schedule.

PRO TIP

Don’t let it sit in water or it may experience root rot. If it leaves yellow, you may be overwatering it.

FISHBONE CACTUS

This uncommon plant's leaves (which are actually stems) are a beautiful shade of green, and grow in a unique zig-zag shape. It can even produce beautiful nocturnal flowers, but this is rare to happen indoors. It's great for beginners with its low-maintenance needs.

PRO TIP

If leaves seem limp or wrinkly, give them a drink and they'll plump up within hours.

MONSTERA DELICIOSA

SWISS CHEESE PLANT

A favorite of our generation, the Monstera Deliciosa's perforated and waxy dark green leaves breathe life into any stale space. Easy to care for and unique in appearance, it quickly gained traction as a houseplant favorite on Instagram with the common use of the hashtag: #monsteramondays

PRO TIP

Wipe down its leaves to remove dust build-up, which prevents it from soaking in as much sunlight as possible.

PHILODENDRON BIRKIN

The Birkin plantis an exciting (and relatively new) variety that bucks the trend when it comes to growth. Where many popular Philodendron are vining species, the Birkin is a compact plant that more than makes up for its lack of growth with oodles of character and color, with stripes that only become more prominent as it matures.

PRO TIP

It’s one of the few Philodendron plants that are compact enough to comfortably grow on windowsills and in terrariums.

FRIZZLE SIZZLE

The Corkscrew Albuca Spiralis features unique spiral-shaped foliage, creating a unique and distinct look. Its leaves develop a distinctive twist as they grow, making it an eye-catching addition. Perfect for bright indirect-light, it requires minimal maintenance and grows brilliant yellow blooms.

PRO TIP

When the flower stalks are growing, the tips of the leaves often turn brown. This is a normal occurrence and new leaves will sprout in the fall.

BUDDHA HAND

The heart-shaped leaves of this Alocasia makes it the perfect gift for the ones you love. Its glossy, textural foliage will make you want to reach out and touch it. The name 'Budda HAND' comes from the fact that it resembles the Buddha's palm when blowing in the wind. Other common names include 'Chinese Taro' and 'Hooded Dwarf Elephant Ear'.

Dust when necessary and keep an eye out for spider mites that'll form webs on the under-leaves of the plant.
